We will convey the attractions and information accurately.
Posted by 中村響子 onWe, HIKO, have been running an online store since 2000.
When we first opened, we were hoping to "take photos,
All they had to do was publish it as is, without any editing.
However, in reality, it is rare to be able to take a photo that accurately reflects the actual item, and we received several comments from customers at the time such as, "The color of the item I received was slightly different from what I saw on the screen."
Through 20 years of trial and error,
Currently,
① Around lunchtime
② In the shade
I try to shoot under certain conditions.
First, fine-tune the camera,
Take multiple photos of the same item.
Sometimes it's difficult to capture the colors accurately, so in those cases I sometimes have to take about 10 photos from the same angle.
On busy days, we may take more than 400 photos in total.
We then carefully select the one that has the closest texture and feel, and then use computer software to make it even closer to the real thing.
How can we get as close to the actual product as possible, in terms of brightness, color, balance of contrast between the base color and pattern, and the sheen of the fabric?
Sometimes a single photo can require more than 20 adjustments: should I try to reduce the redness a little, or lower the brightness a little, or how about the saturation?
The finished photos are then sent to your smartphone to check for differences in color compared to the computer screen.
In addition, to convey the size and specifications of the finer details, we take photos from various angles and coordinate them with other items.
There are many steps that must be taken before an item is listed on our online store.
In reality, even if we take a photo in the shade during the day as mentioned above, if the customer viewing the item is in an environment with orange-tinted incandescent lighting, the colors may appear different.
In addition, the appearance of the page may change depending on the environment in which you view the page (monitor settings, etc.).
"100% perfectly shot in real life,
I’ll show you the photo.”
This is nearly impossible, but we must still make every effort to minimize the difference.
It's not really that easy,
A customer said, "The product was exactly as I expected and I was very satisfied!"
When I receive such kind words, it makes me feel that I must continue to provide accurate information.
