GINZA HIKO RECRUIT

Connecting artisans from around the world to our customers.

At Ginza Hiko, we don't just sell clothes. Our job is to help customers who appreciate the value of masterpieces created with passion by artisans find what they're looking for. We welcome those who want to learn from scratch, as well as those who want to apply their experience on a higher stage.

Our Mission

Only the best,

from around the world.

Ginza Hiko strives to be a "bridge" connecting artisans and customers.

Around the world, there are artisans with exceptional skills and aesthetic sensibilities who may not be widely known. And there are customers who deeply understand their value and are looking for a piece that will enrich their lives.

Our role is to honestly connect these two, conveying not only the beauty of the products but also the craftsmanship, culture, and artisans' passion embedded within them.

Why HIKO

Working at Ginza Hiko

Because we are a small store, you can gain a wide range of experience, not only in customer service but also in products, e-commerce, communication, and international trade.

01

Develop your skills according to your experience

For those without experience, we provide thorough guidance from the basics. For experienced individuals, we actively assign tasks that leverage their strengths, such as customer service skills, sales abilities, client building, e-commerce, and language proficiency.

02

Emphasizing results born from trust

There are no sales quotas that force aggressive selling. However, sales achievements and contributions to the store, generated while maintaining customer trust, are fairly reflected in compensation.

03

Access to world-class masterpieces

You will routinely handle first-class products created by exceptional artisans and brands from Italy, France, and other countries.

04

Experience a wide range of tasks

As a small store, you can be involved in all aspects of store operations, including customer service, inventory management, photography, e-commerce management, social media, and international transactions.

05

Fair evaluation of roles and achievements

We comprehensively evaluate experience, abilities, the range of tasks you can handle, and achievements after joining the company. After the probationary period, we revise the basic salary according to your actual role.

06

Opportunities for overseas business trips

Depending on experience, motivation, and growth, there have been instances of accompanying or dispatching staff on European business trips to visit exhibitions, workshops, and brands.

For Professionals

Take your experience to the next level.

We welcome not only those who want to learn from scratch, but also those who want to leverage their accumulated sales skills and expertise to take on bigger challenges.

Your Strengths

Immediately apply your strengths to your work.

If you have experience in customer service and sales at luxury apparel, high-end watch, jewelry stores, department stores, or as an outside salesperson, you don't need to undergo lengthy, standardized training.

Once you understand the products and Ginza Hiko's philosophy, we will entrust you with customer service, client building, sales planning, and purchasing support early on, depending on your experience and aptitude.

  • Customer service experience with affluent / VIP clients
  • Sales achievements and client building for high-value products
  • Store management and leadership experience
  • E-commerce operation, photography, social media, content creation
  • Language proficiency, international trade, and buying experience
Evaluation & Reward

Results are reflected in compensation.

The absence of sales quotas does not mean that performance is not evaluated.

We comprehensively evaluate each individual's role and contribution, including customer service and sales performance, building lasting customer relationships, store operations, e-commerce, information dissemination, and language skills.

During the probationary period, we confirm actual abilities and scope of responsibilities, and after the probationary period, we revise the basic salary based on experience, ability, and role. Furthermore, we have an incentive system based on performance.

We aim to fairly evaluate professionals who achieve high results while maintaining customer trust, rather than solely pursuing sales figures.

For those without experience, opportunities to learn. For those with experience, a stage to demonstrate your abilities. Though our positions and backgrounds may differ, our goals are the same. We are looking for individuals who can take pride in connecting artisans from around the world with customers who appreciate their value.
Philosophy

Honest business that does not shame the sun.

Focusing on value, not fame.

Since its founding as a select shop, Ginza Hiko has consistently prioritized carefully selecting "high-quality items" and "items that bring smiles and courage when worn."

We do not stock a brand just because it is well-known. We uphold the standard of whether the product itself has true value and whether it will genuinely satisfy our customers.

We stand between the artisans who create masterpieces and the customers who find value in them, and we fulfill our role honestly, with respect for both.

Career Story

Step by step, from no experience.

Mr. Sato, currently an active staff member, joined Ginza Hiko as a new graduate with no prior apparel experience.

Staff Sato on a business trip to Italy
Before joining

I had a dream, even without experience.

Sato joined the company as a new graduate and had no prior practical experience in the apparel industry. However, he had an interest in fashion and a dream of "one day visiting Italy and working as a buyer."

Immediately after joining

First, getting hands-on with products.

Every day, he learned about materials, tailoring, brand backgrounds, and how to handle products by touching them in the store. He also learned the basics of store operations, such as inspection, cleaning, packaging, and inventory management, one by one.

Around 6 months after joining

Customer service is not rushed.

At Ginza Hiko, we prioritize making accurate proposals to our customers above all else. Therefore, we did not immediately entrust him with customer service alone after he joined the company.

He learned how to converse with customers, understand their needs, and propose products by closely observing the representative's and owner's customer service, and gradually gained experience as a customer service assistant.

After 1 year of employment

Gradually expanding the scope of work.

In addition to customer service, he also gained experience in product photography, online store product registration, packaging and shipping, and social media communication. He gradually acquired the skills necessary for store operations while discovering his strengths.

Around 4 years of employment

Becoming a key player supporting the store.

Through daily accumulation of experience, he became entrusted with multiple tasks, including in-store operations, inventory management, and e-commerce. He valued accuracy and honesty, without rushing to become a full-fledged professional.

After 5 years of employment

Experiencing the world of excellence firsthand.

Beyond knowledge, the sensitivity to appreciate beauty and culture is also essential for customer service.

We have provided opportunities to deepen his insight, such as dining at top restaurants, attending jazz concerts and parties, and visiting museums during working hours.

8 years of employment

At long last, a solo trip to Italy.

After years of accumulated experience, he went on his first solo business trip to Italy. He visited exhibitions, brands, and workshops, and experienced interacting and negotiating with local artisans. "I was so moved to finally meet in person the artisans I had seen on screen and communicated with via email!" Sato passionately recounted upon his return, and we were delighted as well.

Present

My dream has become a reality.

Sato currently serves as a manager for in-store and e-commerce operations, and is also involved in overseas business trips and product selection. This year, he has already visited Italy twice, gaining further experience as a buyer.

You don't need exceptional talent from the start.

What's important is a desire to care for products and people, and a continuous willingness to learn. At Ginza Hiko, we nurture this motivation over time, without rushing the process.

Learning & Experience

To remain a professional.

Acquired knowledge, skills, and experience are invaluable assets that no one can take away. This is an opportunity not only to train inexperienced individuals but also for experienced individuals to continue honing their sensibilities.

European business trips / Factory and exhibition visits
Art appreciation at museums
Dining at renowned restaurants with exceptional culinary skills
Opportunities to experience live professional music
Participation in parties and cultural events

To consistently provide excellent proposals, it's essential to continually refine not only sales techniques but also one's sensibilities and human depth. Depending on work experience, role, and motivation, we support the acquisition of "knowledge and experiences" such as English conversation classes, wine courses, art appreciation at museums, and participation in top-tier restaurants, live performances, and parties.

Attending school courses and museum visits are conducted during working hours, depending on the content. Experiential opportunities such as dinner parties, performances, and events may be conducted outside working hours.

Our Work

Main job duties

You will be involved in various tasks, not just customer service, from the moment a product arrives until it reaches the customer.

CUSTOMER SERVICE

Customer Service Duties

In-store customer service, product proposals, responding to inquiries via phone and email, etc. We value conversations with customers and propose items that suit their needs and preferences.

STORE MANAGEMENT

Store and Inventory Management

This job involves maintaining the beauty of the store, including cleaning the interior, inspecting products, creating price tags and fixtures, managing inventory, and adjusting displays.

E-COMMERCE

E-commerce Operations

Registering products to the online store, processing orders, packing, shipping, and taking photos and videos.

GLOBAL BUSINESS

International Business

Communicating with overseas brands via email, placing product orders, confirming import details, and, depending on experience, participating in visits to exhibitions, workshops, and showrooms.

CONTENT

Information Dissemination

Promoting the appeal of products and artisans through social media, blogs, videos, and brochures given to customers.

BUYING SUPPORT

Product Selection Support

After gaining experience, you will be involved in product selection and ordering based on customer feedback and sales performance.

A day at work

The day begins with morning cleaning. During business hours, tasks include assisting customers, packing and shipping orders received from the online store, communicating with overseas business partners, product registration, taking photos and videos, and creating social media posts and blog content. Since the scope of work varies by day, you can gain broad experience across all aspects of store operations.

Who We Are Looking For

Who we want to work with

  • Individuals who can treat customers and artisans with respect and gratitude.
  • Individuals interested in fashion, beautiful things, and craftsmanship.
  • Individuals who continue to learn and do not leave things they don't understand unresolved.
  • Individuals who value accuracy and approach their work diligently.
  • Individuals who do not limit themselves to their own roles but cooperate with others.
  • Individuals with a desire for self-improvement, who constantly question their own way of being and strive to do better.
  • Individuals who wish to challenge themselves with overseas work or as a buyer in the future.
  • Individuals who want to leverage their past sales experience and customer relationships on a higher stage.
  • Individuals who can think independently and make proposals and take actions that lead to sales and store growth.

We ourselves did not possess special experience or abilities from the start. Whenever we faced various challenges, such as global recessions or the Kumamoto earthquake, we overcame them through wisdom, ingenuity, and action.

We value a sincere attitude toward learning and growth, not just the presence or absence of experience. At the same time, we want those who already possess sales skills and expertise to fully demonstrate their abilities.

Our History

From Kumamoto to Ginza

A small family-run store, continuing its journey in Ginza.

Ginza Hiko is a men's select shop that originated in Kumamoto, Kyushu.

In 1986, when the internet and mobile phones didn't exist and imported brands were still a rarity, our founder, Tetsuhiko Nakamura, opened "Men's Boutique Hiko" in Kumamoto.

The name "Hiko" embodies the wish for the store to grow healthy like a child of the sun, and to conduct honest business that would not shame the sun.

Triggered by the Kumamoto earthquake, the store relocated to Tokyo, where it had no connections or recognition. Currently, with his daughter Kyoko Nakamura as the representative, the store operates in Ginza.

Because we are a small, family-run business, each individual's work contributes to the store's future. We value meeting individuals who will learn with us and help nurture the store.

Recognition

About Ginza Hiko

Despite being a small specialty store, we have had the honor of collaborating with many media outlets and companies.

Featured on NHK's "Sarameshi"

Our store's daily life and family-run business were introduced in the program.

Luxury Media Coverage

We have been featured in web media for affluent individuals and men's fashion publications.

Business with Department Stores

We have ongoing partnerships with Nihonbashi Mitsukoshi Main Store and Tsuruya Department Store in our hometown of Kumamoto.
