Price Adjustment Announcement

Stefano Ricci has been undergoing a phased price adjustment since last year. Spring/Summer 2025 and Autumn/Winter 2025-26 represent the first phase, and new Spring/Summer 2026 products will reflect the second phase of pricing.

Traditional domestic prices had not adequately reflected rising exchange rates and shipping costs for many years, leading to a disparity with local prices. Ginza HIKO, upon commencing direct dealings last year, consulted with the head office and is gradually reviewing prices, avoiding abrupt changes.

  • Ties without pleats (jacquard, printed, solid)

Luxury Brand Stefano Ricci Total Collection (Blouson, Shirt, Pants, Belt) Exclusively at Ginza HIKO, Japan's only store
In this feature, we will introduce the brand's philosophy, manufacturing process, and the aesthetic sense imbued in its masterpieces, focusing particularly on ties, accompanied by photos and videos taken by Ginza HIKO on-site.

Stefano Ricci ties cannot simply be described as "flashy and expensive." The selection of materials, the depth of colors, the meticulous prints and jacquards, the three-dimensional pleats, and the craftsmanship extending even to unseen details – all these elements combine to make a single tie elevate the elegance of an entire outfit.

The elegance when viewed from a distance. The intricate work that only becomes apparent up close. And the three-dimensional quality created when tied. Few brands invest so much technique and philosophy into the small area of a tie.

Today, the brand offers a total collection including apparel and leather goods, but its origin lies in an uncompromising dedication to a single tie, the centerpiece of any attire.

Furthermore, behind the brand lies a profound history that touches upon the very silk culture of Florence. When one understands not only the impression of the gorgeous finished product but also the accumulated weaving and workshop traditions behind it, the significance of Stefano Ricci becomes even clearer.

What is Stefano Ricci?

A Luxury Brand Where Florentine Tradition and Innovation Breathe

Stefano Ricci is an Italian luxury brand founded in Florence in 1972. While particularly known for its ties in Japan, its essence extends beyond merely being a "brand that makes beautiful ties."

The selection of the finest silk, meticulous prints and jacquards, unique pleat expressions, and an aesthetic sense that extends to even the unseen parts. This accumulation gives Stefano Ricci ties an unparalleled presence.

The elegance when viewed from afar. The intricate work that only becomes apparent up close. And the three-dimensional quality created when tied. Few brands imbue so much technique and philosophy into the small area of a tie.

Currently, the brand offers a total collection including apparel and leather goods, but its origin lies in an uncompromising dedication to a single tie, the centerpiece of any attire.

Furthermore, behind the brand lies a profound history that touches upon the very silk culture of Florence. When one understands not only the impression of the gorgeous finished product but also the accumulated weaving and workshop traditions behind it, the significance of Stefano Ricci becomes even clearer.

The Site That Carries on Florence's Silk Culture Today

Antico Setificio Fiorentino was visited by Ginza HIKO staff, Sato.

Indispensable when discussing Stefano Ricci's craftsmanship is the historic silk weaving workshop, Antico Setificio Fiorentino. This workshop, dating back to the 18th century, is a special place that carries on Florence's silk culture to this day, and it is one of the backdrops supporting the world of Stefano Ricci.

At Ginza HIKO, our buyer and web shop manager, Sato, actually visited this workshop and filmed the active looms. What he witnessed there was not just a tourist exhibit, but a living workplace where work is still carried out by human hands and sensory experience.

What was particularly impressive was the sight of artisans operating looms by stepping on pedals, powerfully yet meticulously weaving fabric. The video captures not only their movements but also the sound of the looms. It was a moment that truly made one realize that the luxurious world of silk is built upon such accumulated on-site work.

Filmed on-site by Ginza HIKO buyer Sato. You can see the powerful operation of the loom with the movement of the foot pedal, and even hear the sounds resonating in the workshop.

Why "luxury silk" is more than just a phrase

The charm of Stefano Ricci lies not just in the splendor of the finished ties and apparel. In the workshop, looms reportedly designed by Leonardo da Vinci remain, and looms from the 1700s and 1800s are still in active use today. Under these historic looms, silk fabrics are produced through meticulous handiwork, in a process unchanged from that era, where only about one meter can be woven per day. When one reflects on the culture in which the brand has continued its craftsmanship, the lineage of workshops and techniques it has embraced, the perception and value of a single tie transform. The atmosphere of this workshop, experienced firsthand by Ginza HIKO on-site, strongly reinforced this realization.

Why is Ginza HIKO the only "authorized direct import" retailer?

We took action to fill Japan's "void."

There was a period when new Stefano Ricci ties were not consistently introduced in Japan. "I want a new tie, but I can't find one in any store" - we received numerous comments like this from customers in-store and from overseas.

Therefore, Ginza HIKO chose to take action rather than wait. Our representative, Nakamura, personally traveled to Italy, directly met with the local representatives and senior management, and conveyed that Japanese customers sought Stefano Ricci's masterpieces, as well as our long-term commitment and determination to faithfully communicate the brand's value to the market.

As a result, based on our past sales performance, communication efforts, and our proactive approach on-site, direct dealings with the brand's headquarters commenced. Since then, Ginza HIKO, with its representative Nakamura and buyer Sato regularly visiting Stefano Ricci's showrooms, head office, and factories in Italy, has been an authorized retailer, directly importing and responsibly presenting new, classic, and special items made from rare fabrics.

While other stores have not received new products for over two years, Ginza HIKO, as Japan's sole authorized direct import retailer, offers the largest inventory and selection in Japan. We believe this fact holds significant meaning for both customers looking for the brand and those discovering it for the first time.

From Florence to Ginza — HIKO's Encounter with "Authentic Craftsmanship"

Nakamura, our representative who has observed the European market for over 25 years, and Sato, who has gained experience in both retail and web since joining in 2017, personally visited Stefano Ricci's headquarters, factory, and showroom. Through photos and videos taken on-site, we convey the brand's philosophy and the sense of rigor that underpins it.

The atmosphere when we met founder Stefano Ricci for the first time, the conversations held in the showroom, and the unwavering commitment to quality we witnessed in the workshop. It is thanks to these experiences that Ginza HIKO continues to speak about this brand with such conviction.

A single color difference can change a tie — the tension witnessed on site

During a factory visit, we encountered a scene where a "patchwork tie" made by combining many pleated fabrics was being designed.
The female supervisor stood there, arms crossed, with a stern expression. When asked why, she replied,
"I don't think the balance of colors in the pleated fabric in this section is appropriate."
It was a moment when I understood firsthand why Stefano Ricci ties are called "works of art"—they leave no subtle tone difference unnoticed and make no compromises to create a perfect piece.

※Based on what Ginza HIKO buyer Sato saw and heard during his on-site visit.

What I saw on site was not glamour itself, but the rigor that elegantly brings glamour to life. The ability to convey even that sense of tension is precisely why Ginza HIKO travels to the source and engages directly with the brand.

Crystal Embellishments, Stone by Stone

The brilliance of the finished product is not born by chance. The meticulousness characteristic of Stefano Ricci is concentrated in the process where artisans meticulously place each crystal, reading the play of light.

Hand-stitching is Key to Tie Making

In the final stage, which determines the overall look of the tie, hand-stitching that maintains uniform tension is indispensable.

128 Pleats in One Tie. The Iconic Three-Dimensional Beauty of Stefano Ricci

One cannot discuss Stefano Ricci without mentioning its iconic pleated ties. From a distance, they exude elegance, but up close, one is captivated by the precision of the folds and the beauty of their shadows. This three-dimensionality creates a unique presence unlike any other tie.

Within approximately 7 cm width, there are 16 pleats. This is arranged in 8 blocks, resulting in a total of 128 pleats in a single tie.

Extreme close-up of a Stefano Ricci pleated tie. 16 pleats are neatly folded into approximately 7cm width, creating a three-dimensional beauty with a total of 128 pleats across 8 blocks.

Stefano Ricci's signature pleated ties are special ties that create a three-dimensional effect by folding the fabric many times. While Sette Pieghe is often spoken of as a "luxury tie that uses a lot of fabric," Stefano Ricci's pleated ties also require more fabric than ordinary ties, as soft silk fabric cut on the bias is beautifully folded to maintain a consistent width. Moreover, maintaining this three-dimensional effect neatly requires nothing less than advanced skill and meticulous handwork.

The typical models we offer at Ginza HIKO feature alternating sections with and without pleats. The pleated sections are approximately 7 cm wide, with 16 pleats neatly folded into each.

Furthermore, these pleated blocks are arranged in 8 locations throughout the tie, resulting in a structure of 16 pleats × 8 blocks = 128 pleats. Since ties use diagonally cut fabric, even a slight misalignment can disrupt the impression. Yet, the fact that they are so uniformly arranged demonstrates the precise handcraftsmanship unique to Stefano Ricci.

As you can see from the photos, each fold is exquisitely precise, and the luster and shadows of the silk beautifully emerge depending on how the light hits it. Stefano Ricci ties, while possessing a sartorial aspect, elevate their collection to a level worthy of being called "works of art" by layering three-dimensionality, color, and meticulous handcraftsmanship.

Beyond Three-Dimensionality: The Beauty of Plain Ties for Business

Stefano Ricci also offers the option of refined plain ties.

When thinking of Stefano Ricci, many may first imagine their three-dimensional pleated ties. However, the brand's appeal extends beyond that. Plain ties, boasting the deep hues characteristic of high-quality silk and a subtle luster that gently emerges in the light, are also incredibly beautiful.

On days when you want to convey an impression of quality itself rather than overt extravagance, these solid ties excel. In important business meetings, dinners, presentations, or ceremonies where you wish to convey dignity and trustworthiness, the charm of these solid ties shines through. Even those who favor "quiet luxury" have expressed surprise, saying, "I've never seen such a solid tie before."

FAQ

Are you an authorized dealer?
Yes, we deal directly with the country of origin and provide direct imports.
Why have other stores stopped carrying Stefano Ricci?
Due to the discontinuation of supply through domestic tie specialty agents. Ginza HIKO began direct dealings with Italy in the summer of 2025, directly selecting and importing the latest fabrics and rare items from their local showroom. This makes us currently the only retailer in Japan capable of consistently offering new collections.
Why are Stefano Ricci ties so expensive?
The reason isn't solely the brand name. It's due to the selection of high-quality silk, the three-dimensional pleating and intricate jacquard/printing, the perfection of the tailoring, and the overall presence that influences the entire V-zone. Ginza HIKO also explains the background of the craftsmanship and the meticulous handwork witnessed on-site.
Do you recommend any ties for business use?
Yes. For business, navy ties are highly recommended. They convey a calm impression while also projecting dignity and trustworthiness, making them a classic choice suitable for a wide range of situations such as business meetings, dinners, presentations, and greetings. Stefano Ricci's navy ties are not just subdued; their charm lies in the deep luster unique to high-quality silk and subtle yet memorable jacquard or prints. They are ideal for those seeking a tie that isn't too flashy yet doesn't get lost in the crowd, and are favored by many executives and business professionals. We have a curated selection of business-appropriate navy Stefano Ricci ties available on this page.
What kind of people choose Stefano Ricci ties?
They are chosen by executives, doctors and legal professionals, individuals who frequently have important business meetings or dinners, and those who value their appearance at ceremonies or presentations. They have a presence that is neither too understated nor lacking in dignity, making them suitable for those who wish to express confidence and individuality through their attire. We offer ties ranging from everyday business wear to pieces appropriate for crucial occasions.
Does "luxury tie" refer to Sette Pieghe?
Sette Pieghe is one of the representative specifications often mentioned when discussing luxury ties, but it is not the only criterion for a luxury tie. The value of a luxury tie is created by multiple factors, including fabric quality, weaving and pattern expression, three-dimensionality, tailoring, and the presence when worn. Stefano Ricci, in addition to meticulous hand-stitching, demonstrates the value of a luxury tie from a different perspective than Sette Pieghe through its three-dimensional pleated designs and structures that create rich shadows.
What are the features of pleated ties?
They are Stefano Ricci's iconic three-dimensional ties. In typical models, there are 16 pleats within a 7cm width, arranged in 8 blocks, resulting in a total of 128 pleats per tie. To regularly pleat high-quality silk fabric cut on the bias and beautifully tailor it into a tie requires meticulous handwork by skilled artisans.
What is Antico Setificio Fiorentino?
It is a historic silk weaving workshop rooted in Florence. It still uses looms from the 18th and 19th centuries, some of which are said to have been designed by Leonardo da Vinci. It carries on the tradition of hand-weaving and represents the Florentine aesthetic and craftsmanship today, making it an indispensable part of the background when discussing Stefano Ricci's manufacturing.
Can I get gift wrapping?
Yes, it is possible. We will package it in an official gift box and shopper bag (for a fee).
Will it arrive untied?
All items are delivered in a pristine, unworn, and untied condition.
Can I confirm the color online?
We will send you actual photos and videos via LINE.
When will the price revisions take effect?
The 2025 Spring/Summer and 2025-26 Fall/Winter collections are at the first stage of pricing, and new items from the 2026 Spring/Summer collection will be at the second stage. For more details, please see Information on Price Adjustments.
