Our representative Nakamura and buyer Sato have chosen these items with clear reasons, stating "this tie is excellent for this reason" and "this garment has a reason to be chosen." Rather than simply displaying branded products, we procure items after carefully assessing the beauty of the material, the three-dimensional expression, the precision of the tailoring, and the presence they exude when worn.

Stefano Ricci ties are more than just glamorous accessories. They embody a sartorial quality, enhanced by three-dimensionality, rich colors, and intricate handcraftsmanship, elevating them to a level of perfection that truly deserves to be called "works of art."

Price Adjustment Notice

Stefano Ricci has been implementing phased price adjustments since last year. The Spring/Summer 2025 and Autumn/Winter 2025-26 collections represent the first phase, and the Spring/Summer 2026 new arrivals will see prices in the second phase.

For many years, domestic prices had not adequately reflected the rising exchange rates and transportation costs, leading to a discrepancy with local prices. Upon commencing direct transactions last year, Ginza HIKO consulted with the brand's headquarters and is gradually reviewing prices to avoid abrupt changes.

We kindly ask for your understanding.

Stefano Ricci introduced by Ginza HIKO

The allure of Stefano Ricci isn't just about its high price point. Even looking at a single tie, there's the beauty of the silk, the three-dimensional expression, the meticulous tailoring down to the smallest detail, and the strong presence that elevates the wearer. It's this combination of sartorial elegance, vibrant colors, structural beauty, and dense handcraftsmanship, elevated to a level of perfection worthy of being called a "work of art," that truly defines Stefano Ricci's appeal.

Furthermore, while Settepieghe ties are often spoken of as "luxury ties that use fabric lavishly," the value of a luxury tie is not solely determined by that. Stefano Ricci's pleated ties also require more fabric, superior skill, and careful handwork than ordinary ties, as soft silk fabric cut on the bias is beautifully folded and layered while maintaining a consistent width.

At Ginza HIKO, our representative Nakamura, who has traveled to Italy and France for over 25 years, and staff Sato, who has continuously gained experience there, introduce Stefano Ricci with an understanding of its manufacturing background. Currently, we are the only company in Japan authorized to directly import and sell from Stefano Ricci S.p.A.

The workshop that carries on Florence's silk culture, and the background of Stefano Ricci

The charm of Stefano Ricci lies not only in the splendor of its finished ties and apparel. Behind it is a lineage of Florence's silk culture and craftsmanship.

One indispensable element in discussing the brand's world is the historic silk weaving workshop, Antico Setificio Fiorentino. Within the workshop, looms reportedly designed by Leonardo da Vinci remain, and looms from the 1700s and 1800s are still in active use today. Under the guidance of these historic looms, silk fabrics are created through painstaking handwork, much like in those days, where only about one meter can be woven per day.

How the manufacturing has continued, nestled within a particular culture and alongside a lineage of workshops and techniques — contemplating such a background can change how one perceives a tie and its value. The atmosphere of this workshop, felt by Ginza HIKO on-site, strongly impressed this point upon us.

This video was filmed by Ginza HIKO staff Sato on-site. You can see the craftsmen operating the looms with their feet, and hear the sounds echoing in the workshop. For a more detailed look into the brand's background, please also refer to the special feature page below.

128 pleats in one tie. The three-dimensional beauty symbolic of Stefano Ricci

16 pleats within approximately 7cm width. This is arranged in 8 blocks, resulting in a total of 128 pleats in one tie.

Stefano Ricci signature pleated necktie macro detail showing 16 precise pleats within 7cm section (128 pleats total)

The pleated tie, symbolic of Stefano Ricci, is a special tie that creates a three-dimensional effect by folding the fabric many times. It requires significantly more fabric than a regular tie, and maintaining a consistent width while beautifully layering the folds demands advanced techniques, effort, and meticulous handwork.

The representative model offered at Ginza HIKO features an alternating structure of pleated and non-pleated sections. The pleated sections are approximately 7cm wide, and within each, 16 pleats are meticulously folded.

Furthermore, these pleated blocks are arranged in 8 sections throughout the tie, resulting in a structure of 16 pleats x 8 blocks = 128 pleats. Since ties use bias-cut fabric, even slight misalignment can disrupt the appearance, yet the fact that it is uniformly arranged to this extent reflects Stefano Ricci's precise handcraftsmanship.

As you can see in the photos, each fold is exquisitely precise, and the luster and shadows of the silk beautifully emerge depending on the light. This sculptural, three-dimensional quality, absent in flat ties, is one of the reasons why Stefano Ricci's pleated ties continue to captivate enthusiasts worldwide.
