Regarding Stefano Ricci's price adjustments

STEFANO RICCI / GINZA HIKO

About Stefano Ricci Price Adjustments

Ginza HIKO is the sole official and direct import distributor of Stefano Ricci in Japan. On this page, we will carefully explain the background and rationale behind the recent price adjustments.

While price announcements should be concise, we also believe they should not be ambiguous for long-time customers or those who are considering our products for the first time. Therefore, we have compiled this information as a standalone page for those who wish to review it.

This page provides information regarding the second phase of price adjustments, which will apply to the Spring/Summer 2026 collection.

What We Want You to Know First

This price adjustment is not just a one-time price increase (more details below). As Ginza HIKO began direct transactions with Stefano Ricci headquarters, it became necessary to address long-standing issues where exchange rates and rising shipping costs had not been adequately reflected in Japan's domestic prices.

However, implementing all the price adjustments that other brands have made gradually over many years at once would be too sudden. Therefore, Ginza HIKO, after repeated discussions with Stefano Ricci headquarters last year and this year, decided on a phased approach to price revisions.

As you know, Ginza HIKO is currently the only company in Japan that directly orders and imports Stefano Ricci products from Italy. With Stefano Ricci no longer being a product "available everywhere," its scarcity value has increased alongside price adjustments. We will continue to strive for a richer and higher quality product selection to further satisfy our customers.

The Background

During Stefano Ricci's time with a Japanese agent, price revisions to account for rising exchange rates and shipping costs were not adequately carried out for many years.

As a result, an inverted phenomenon even occurred where the selling price of ties in Japan was lower than that in Italy. To stably and continuously introduce the brand in Japan for the long term, it was difficult to leave this situation unaddressed.

Since 2025, Ginza HIKO has commenced direct transactions with Stefano Ricci's headquarters, taking responsibility for introducing new, standard, and rare collections. In this new beginning, price consistency was also an unavoidable challenge.

A Phased Review, Not a Sudden Revision

If the long-standing discrepancy were to be corrected all at once, the revision range would inevitably be significant. However, such a sudden change would be too abrupt for our customers.

Therefore, Ginza HIKO, after repeated discussions with headquarters, is gradually revising prices. The first phase covered the Spring/Summer 2025 and Autumn/Winter 2025-26 collections, and the second phase covers the Spring/Summer 2026 collection. A third phase is planned for Autumn/Winter 2026-27 or Spring/Summer 2027, which will mark the conclusion of the current price adjustments. (We will continue to consider and respond to rapid fluctuations in exchange rates, etc.).

We hope you understand that while we are making necessary adjustments, we have taken care to minimize any sudden burden on our customers.

Reason for Non-Uniform Revision Rates

The varying revision rates across different categories are not due to arbitrary adjustments. When direct transactions began, there were differing conditions regarding price adjustments for each category in discussions with the headquarters. Ginza HIKO has set prices that reflect these circumstances.

Therefore, the price revisions are not a uniform percentage but vary by product category. Nevertheless, the underlying philosophy is consistent: it is a review aimed at stably and responsibly continuing to offer the brand.

Differences from Other Luxury Brands

In recent years, price revisions by international luxury brands have become common. For example, some iconic bags from famous French brands that cost several hundred thousand yen about 10 years ago now exceed 1.5 million yen and are approaching 2 million yen.

On the other hand, Stefano Ricci's necessary adjustments were delayed because revisions had not been sufficiently implemented in Japan for many years. These current price adjustments are intended to gradually rectify the accumulated lag over nearly a decade in a way that is not too abrupt.

Frequently Asked Questions

Did this price adjustment suddenly begin with the Spring/Summer 2026 collection?

No. Spring/Summer 2025 and Autumn/Winter 2025-26 were the first phase, and Spring/Summer 2026 is the second phase. This is not the first time; it is part of a gradual review process.

Why wasn't the price adjusted to the appropriate level all at once?

Because correcting a long-standing discrepancy all at once would be too sudden a change for customers. Ginza HIKO, after repeated discussions with headquarters, chose a phased review approach.

Why do the revision rates differ for each product?

This is because the conditions with the headquarters vary by category. Our store sets prices that reflect these realities.

Will price adjustments continue in the future?

While there is a possibility depending on future exchange rates, shipping costs, and brand policy, we currently plan to conclude the adjustments in 2027.

Can I check the price adjustments on the product list page or special feature page?

Yes. An overview is also posted on the product list page and special feature page. This page provides a more detailed explanation of the background and rationale.

Finally

We believe that price information should not be overly prominent on pages that highlight the brand's appeal. That is why we have provided it as a standalone page, ensuring that those who need to can easily access and review it.

Ginza HIKO, as the sole official and direct import distributor of Stefano Ricci in Japan, will continue to responsibly represent this brand. We sincerely appreciate your understanding.
